I had actually tested and written up some notes on a wide range of their products just before the brand announced that they would be drastically lowering their prices. And I was going to be recommending them either way so, at these new prices, I really cannot recommend them highly enough!

I’ve seen so many positive cbdMD reviews on Reddit over the last few years, it’s safe to say that my expectations of these products were very high going into this process. cbdMD has a great variety of products to choose from, but here are some of the products I tried that left the biggest impression on me.
Focus Capsules review
The product I was most excited about trying were the Focus Capsules. This is because I struggle to concentrate sometimes and find myself procrastinating instead of working – a common problem I’m sure.
In the past, I’ve really enjoyed taking CBD and CBG together in the mornings as I find it to be a fantastic combination of cannabinoids to help boost motivation, focus, and mood.
These capsules not only offer approx 28 mg of CBD and 8 mg of CBG in each serving (two capsules), but they also contain Vitamin B12, Magtein, EnXtra, bacopa monnieri, green oats, and huperzine to further enhance the effects offered.
- Magtein is a popular nootropic compound that combines magnesium, vitamin C, and vitamin D3, to support mental clarity, boost memory function, and overall cognitive function
- EnXtra is a caffeine alternative, derived from alpinia galangal (member of the ginger family), that boosts energy, alertness, and focus without the caffeine crash
- Bacopa monnieri is a nootropic herb, long used in traditional medicine for longevity and cognitive enhancement
- Green oats are a powerful herb that is said to help soothe the brain and nervous system, reducing tension and stress and enhance energy and endurance
- Huperzine is a chemical compound that has been shown to enhance learning and memory and helps to support focus
They’re fairly large capsules (I guess they have to be to fit all of those ingredients in!), but they slip down the throat easily. I can’t say I notice a huge difference on the energy front, but these capsules are great for helping me get stuff done!
Around 40 minutes to an hour after taking two capsules, my brain just feels less cluttered. My thoughts are more focused and I’m able to concentrate on the task at hand more easily. I like these Focus Capsules and I’ll definitely be using them every weekday until they’re gone.
I also recommended them to my mom who has fibromyalgia. There are some vendors in the UK who import cbdMD products and I think these capsules will be ideal for helping improve her brain fog.

If you’re tempted by cbdMD’s gummy range then let me tempt you some more, as they are delicious, especially the raspberry flavored ones!

Broad-Spectrum CBD Gummies
A great quality, straight-forward, broad spectrum gummy option for those looking for a simple CBD-only gummy. These come in a mixture of strawberry, orange, raspberry, and tropical fruit flavors.
Calming Gummies
These are one of my favorite broad-spectrum gummies as they have tons of extra ingredients that help enhance the relaxing and calming properties of CBD, including ashwagandha, L-Theanine, chamomile, lemon balm, valerian root, and GABA.
They are wonderful for helping my husband unwind after a hard day’s work. He said he feels like a weight’s been lifted and they help him worry less about the stresses from work. A sense of calm takes over.
I don’t really feel stressed too often, but I do really enjoy chilling out with these gummies. They kind of bring me down from the day and help me switch off from work which, as anyone who works from home will know, can be quite hard sometimes!
I would also recommend these Calming Gummies to anyone looking for a melatonin-free sleep gummy.
Sleep Aid Gummies
These have similar ingredients to the Calming Gummies, although in differing amounts, with the added benefit of the hormone melatonin to help your body prepare itself for sleep.
Full Spectrum CBD Gummies
These gummies harness the full spectrum power of the entourage effect and deliver highly potent and effective doses to you in each gummy for a great price.

cbdMD offers two different topical options for all of your localized aches and pains, whether they be from injury, surgery, or post-workout soreness. One has a cooling action and the other a warming action, so you can choose which you prefer and you’ll also have to choose between three different strengths.
When it comes to CBD topicals, I tend to prefer higher strengths, so it’s great that both their Freeze roll-on and Recover cream are available with 3,000 mg of CBD, but you can also get a 1,500 mg and 750 mg version of each. Both the Freeze and Recover also contain extra therapeutic ingredients to compliment the analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties of the CBD.
Freeze 1500mg review
Alongside the CBD, cbdMD Freeze contains:
- Menthol – the cooling sensation offers comfort and the pain relieving properties are often used to help manage pain.
- Arnica – well-known for its pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory properties. Commonly used for pain caused by osteoarthritis, as well as bruising and swelling after surgery.
- Tea tree – powerful anti-inflammatory that can help soothe and relieve pain.
- Aloe vera – well-known to be a potent anti-inflammatory that you usually see treating sunburn.
As you’d expect, the Freeze roll-on feels divinely cool and refreshing on your skin when you apply it. My neighbour appreciated the roll-on application method as it helped him reach places without bending and twisting too much.
He said he loves it as it really helps get him going in the morning. The coolness wakes him up and the Freeze lotion helps relieve the pain and tightness he has in some of his joints when he wakes up.
Customer reviews of this product are fantastic, even on the lower strength version (300 mg) which isn’t available anymore. It’s also so refreshing and soothing after a tough workout!
It seems that cbdMD have truly hit on a winning formula here!
cbdMD Recover review
Alongside the CBD, cbdMD’s Recover Cream contains:
- Histamine dihydrochloride – an over the counter product used to relieve muscle and joint pain
- Arnica – see above
- Aloe vera – see above
- MSM – widely used supplement used for relieving joint pain, stiffness, and swelling
cbdMD’s Recover Cream is also a pretty hardcore pain relief cream! This would be an excellent choice for people living with arthritis or experiencing post surgery pain, especially if you prefer the warming action over cooling.
So far, I’ve only used it on sore muscles from being sat hunched in front of a computer all day, but it’s very effective. I usually rub some of the cream into the areas that feel tight and then do some gentle stretching and I feel good as new!
We also used this cream on my husband’s back during a three day drive to Texas and he was suitably impressed. He said it worked better than the pain patches he’s used in the past and the drive would have been a lot harder without it.

So, we know the products work, but what about the company? What’s going on behind closed doors, and can we trust the quality and service?

I guess it doesn’t really matter where the hemp was grown within the US, as long as it’s organic and clean, which can be tested for (and is by cbdMD and third parties).
6. Comprehensive third-party testing (for potency and purity)
One of the most important things I noticed, when poking around cbdMD’s website, is that every single product I checked had been comprehensively tested by third-parties to verify its potency and safety.
By the looks of it, all cbdMD’s products are tested for contaminants such as pesticides, heavy metals, microbials, mycotoxins, and residual solvents (if applicable). You can also access a full cannabinoid profile of each product which confirms exactly how much CBD, CBG, or CBN is in there.
Most companies these days test for cannabinoid potency, but not many test for purity (contaminants), so this is a great testament to a brand that puts your safety before making a couple of extra bucks.

I also love the easy shopping experience that cbdMD offers. Their website is super easy to navigate with all of the product information being easy to find, including ingredient listings, lab reports, customer reviews, and FAQ’s.

cbdMD’s recent price drop makes investing in their products a no-brainer. I was already very impressed with their clean, potent, and effective range, and the prices they were charging weren’t dissimilar to other premium brands on the market.
If I’d written this review one month ago, I’d have said that their products are a little on the pricey side, but they’re worth it. Now, I can’t recommend them highly enough.
