But for the rest of us who are curious about this particular method of Delta 8 THC, let’s dive into this review and see how well this product actually works.
CRYSTAL CLEAR ELECTRA Delta 8 THC CARTRIDGE
The NWCS website is extremely easy to navigate, thanks to the simple categorization of products: edibles, concentrates (extracts), flowers, and wellness products (topicals and tinctures). In the concentrates section, six companies offer cartridges in various forms (syringes, cartridges, and vapes), as well as familiar strains and flavors (Gelato, Tiger’s Blood, Pineapple, Sour Diesel, etc.). Since these products are strictly sold within Washington state, there is no option to purchase online or pick up in-store. The site is more of a catalog of the available products. There is no price listed or option to reserve a product at a particular location. A store locator allows you to enter your city or zip code. I typed the city of Spokane in the search box. I got a list of over 30 licensed medical and recreational dispensaries that carried NWCS products. The company’s headquarters and contact information were also available. A vast list of all the brands and products they carried (Crystal Clear, EZ Vape, Pure Ratios, Chewee’s, etc.). Unfortunately, if you don’t live in the state of Washington, there’s not much you can do to purchase these products, as there is no checkout option or discounts for buying online. If you happen to live in the state or are passing through on a road trip, make sure you check out at a NWCS dispensary and sample as many of their products as you can. But for now, let’s check out the 1000mg cartridge called Electra.

Product Review
I was a bit nervous to try the 1000mg Electra cartridge, as this would be my first time using a Delta 8 THC cartridge. I held the cartridge to my nose and detected a lemon-y hemp flavor that was very acrid, even just to smell. I screwed the vape cartridge into the base of my vaporizer and fired the button. I inhaled the vapor for at least 6-10 seconds and waited until I felt my lungs fill up, and noted the citrus-y and hemp flavor and scent became much stronger in the smoke. I intended to hold the vapor in my lungs for a few seconds but was overwhelmed by a coughing fit that brought tears to my eyes. This is a common issue for experienced weed smokers and beginners alike, so I wasn’t too surprised. Still, it was a very uncomfortable few seconds before I could breathe comfortably again. My chest felt tight, and my throat felt raw from the coughing, and I kept rubbing my sternum to soothe the pain from the coughing.
Despite this, I was tempted to hit the pen again to get a better lung absorption. Since I didn’t want to double the effects, I decided to wait a few minutes to see if the Delta 8 THC started to work, and rightly so! About five minutes after my initial hit, I began to feel the effects that slowly turned into a delightful mind and body high. My eyelids began to feel heavy, and it was a struggle to keep my eyes open. There was a wonderfully pleasant tingling on the top of my hands and my feet, as well as a lovely warming sensation. My chest still felt sore, but it was much more bearable, and I soon forgot that I had coughed so hard. It felt like time slowed, and I became very relaxed and euphoric. I noticed that my high alternated from being dizzy and lazy to being alert and sharply focused. When I got up to walk around, I noticed a wavy sense of perception but no loss of balance or disorientation.
About 20 minutes into the high, I noticed that my throat was still very sore from the coughing, and it was painful to clear my throat. I felt hotness in my mouth like someone had stuffed a cotton ball in there. I took a swig of water, and that instantly soothed my throat. My tongue felt slightly swollen and thick, but it wasn’t anything that alarmed me or caused me to panic. I was delighted to notice that there was no redness in my eyes, but my eyelids still felt heavy and droopy. I was very relaxed and calm and became sleepy. I drifted into a deep slumber and awoke in the morning feeling refreshed and ready to start the day.

Lab Testing
I emailed Northwest Cannabis Solutions to ask about their testing policies. While they didn’t provide a ton of information they did say that they do 3rd part test their products. Additionally, the COAs can be acquired by emailing customer service. Unfortunately, this company isn’t transparent with their testing or testing policies so we have no idea what they are really testing for and if their COAs are authentic and untampered with.
Hemp Information
The Electra cartridge is a distillate of fully activated THC and CBD that is extracted with a proprietary blend of hydrocarbons. The product also utilizes ethanol winterization and molecular distillation that leaves no residual solvents in the finished product. Some pesticides are used in this product, but all are approved by the WSLCB and I-502 Pesticide list for organic cannabis growers within Washington state. The pesticides are OMRI listed and are used during the plant’s vegetative stage but not during the flowering stage. This was unique as many CBD and hemp companies are staunchly against pesticides. Still, Crystal Clear has taken great care to remain within the state guidelines for pesticide use.
Product Packaging
The cartridge came in straightforward plastic and cardboard packaging, much like the packaging for batteries. The company information was prominently displayed on the front, and the product strength (1000mg) and the product name (Electra). There was a fascinating list of the cannabinoids on the front of the packaging, a whopping 89.5% of Delta 8 THC, Delta 9 THC, CBN, and CBG. While it is listed as a Delta 8 THC distillate, the packaging makes frequent reference to marijuana. It is very strict that this product can only be lawfully produced, packaged, and distributed within Washington state to individuals 21 years and older. There was no QR code, expiration date, or user instructions on the packaging. Aside from the listing of cannabinoids on the front, there was no ingredients list or suggested dosage.

How do Delta 8 vape products get their flavor?
It comes out flavorless when Delta 8 is extracted from the hemp plant and processed into the distillate. In order to get the benefits of various delta 9 THC flower strains, you need to add cannabis-derived terpenes into the distillate. If you want your distillate to taste like fruit, candy, or nicotine vape juice, then you will want botanical-derived terpenes. Different sellers have different blends of terpenes, so you will want to experiment to find the ones you like. I’m partial to CannaClear’s botanical-derived terpenes, but I’ve never found a cannabis-derived terpene blend I like. Each vape flavor is a different blend of terpenes. Some places will tell you which botanical and which is cannabis; other times, you need to go off the name. If it has a traditional weed strain name like pineapple express, it’s likely cannabis; if it’s a name based on fruit, it’s probably botanical.
Is vaping or dabbing better?
This really depends on personal preference. Many people find purchasing disposable vape cartridges to be the most efficient way of smoking a THC product in general. Others like to vape but save money by refilling their own vape cartridges by purchasing empty carts or buying a more expensive wax-style vape pen that allows them to refill a single tank but replace the coil periodically. Vaping is really convenient and incredibly discreet; you can do it in public without any questions. Not that I would recommend that, of course. You can also customize your experience with different styles of tanks, coils, and batteries with various features.
Dabbing has many more steps to it, but it doesn’t necessarily have to be more complicated. You can go all out with a giant rig, or you can simply get a dab straw. Dabbing is nice because you can use your senses to control the temperature, including cold starts. This allows for more flavor and a less harsh cough or no cough.

CONCLUSION
The cartridge was a unique experience for me in that it was the first Delta 8 THC cartridge that I tried. I was caught off guard by the intense coughing fit. Still, after the initial wheezing and choking sensation, I marveled at how quickly the THC started working. The high was intense and lasted for several hours, leaving me very relaxed and euphoric. I did not wake up once during the night and had a dreamless sleep that allowed me to start my morning quickly with no “high hangover.” I recommend this product for more advanced THC users, particularly those that enjoy smoking. If you’re a first-time Delta 8 THC user, this product will definitely be intense but not impossible to use. It’ll take some time to get used to the coughing, but I enjoyed how quickly the THC began to work.
Keep in mind that your high may vary based on your weight, age, height, and previous experience with THC. Try to avoid taking multiple hits until you know how your body reacts to high levels of THC. This cartridge was powerful after just one hit, so multiple hits may result in the famous “couch-lock” that brings drowsiness and lethargy that ultimately renders you powerless to get up and move about. When trying this product for the first time, make sure you do not have to operate equipment or machinery, as the THC willslowslow your reaction time. Always consult your primary physician when trying THC products for the first time.
