The 2018 Farm Bill changed everything.
For the past 5+ years, the CBD market has been largely unregulated, leading to countless companies offering products that don’t always deliver what they promise.
Remember, all hemp is not created equal.
BIOS is one new company that understands this well.
Which is why they’ve created a line of pure, full-spectrum, federally-licensed CBD products.
What makes BIOS unique to the numerous other companies that have jumped on the CBD bandwagon?
Let’s take a look.
Who is BIOS?
As a federally-licensed provider of legal hemp products (License #18-21-01P) under the 2018 Farm Bill, BIOS is a new CBD company offering a “first of its kind, infusion line of natural dietary supplements” made with pure, full-spectrum CBD.
Aware that hemp grown overseas isn’t always of the highest quality, they’ve partnered with organic hemp farmers in the US to provide the highest quality CBD products they possibly can.
BIOS is a vertically-integrated company, so they completely control all aspects of their CBD production from harvesting and manufacturing to extraction and distribution.
With their complete production control they are able to ensure quality within each step.
From farm to bottle.
According to BIOS, they are “dedicated to the pursuit of whole body wellbeing through the exploration and perfection of plant-based health products and nature-based methodologies.”
They believe that “life is the substance of earth, sun, water, and vegetation, which in turn create an energy that releases both sustenance and healing forces.”
While relatively new to the CBD scene, BIOS seems to truly care about the hemp products they provide, understanding that quality is paramount when it comes to giving the consumer not only what they’re looking for, but also what they deserve.
BIOS CBD Products
BIOS has taken somewhat of a different approach to their line of full-spectrum CBD products.
While many companies offer more options for CBD tinctures than anything else, BIOS has concentrated most of their efforts on capsules.
This isn’t to say they don’t have a tincture option. They’ve also covered their bases with a couple topical options, as well as treats for your canine companion.
Let’s take a deeper look at exactly what BIOS has to offer.
BIOS CBD 3 types of Capsules/$59.99
CBD capsules offer an easy way to get a perfectly measured dose of CBD. No second guessing if you’re getting exactly the milligram content you desire.
Taking a CBD capsule makes taking CBD as familiar as taking a regular supplement.
As far as capsules are concerned, BIOS offers three different options.
BIOS CBD Capsules
BIOS CBD Capsules contain 12.5mg pure, full-spectrum CBD.
This proprietary formula contains a bioavailability enhancer, which is designed for faster absorption and enhanced bioavailability to ensure that you’re getting as much CBD as possible.
The recommended dosage is two capsules, offering 25mg of CBD per serving.
BIOS CBD Sleep Capsules
Melatonin is the active sleep ingredient in this blended formulation.
According to BIOS, these sleep capsules “embody nature’s solution to anti-anxiety and relaxation” to offer consumers a way to get the sleep they need.
BIOS Sleep Capsules also contain bioavailability enhancers for quick absorption into the bloodstream.
Other ingredients include coconut oil and peppermint oil.
BIOS CBD Pain Capsules
One of the biggest reasons people take CBD is for pain management.
BIOS has created a patented pain tablet formula designed to help relieve inflammation, joint pain, cramps, muscle aches, headaches, and migraines.
Each dissolvable tablet contains 25mg CBD isolate, making it a great choice for those looking for natural pain relief without any traces of THC.
BIOS also claims their pain tablets deliver the highest bioavailability of CBD on the market.
After taking two dissolvable tablets, we felt a noticeable reduction in the neck and shoulder pain we experience on a regular basis about 30 minutes after taking them.
Ingredients include: MCT fractionated coconut oil, hemp extract, microcrystalline cellulose, dicalcium phosphate, tricalcium phosphate, guar gum, complex carbohydrates, natural flavors, magnesium, stearate, and stevia extract.
Keep in mind that both their CBD and Sleep capsules contain bovine gelatin, which makes them unsuitable for vegans.
BIOS CBD Tincture/$59.99
BIOS CBD Tincture contains 12.5mg of full-spectrum CBD per dropper full. Other ingredients include MCT fractionated coconut oil and peppermint oil.
We found the taste of the CBD tincture to have a light peppermint flavor, with hints of the earthy taste of an unflavored CBD oil tincture.
The color of BIOS CBD Tincture is almost clear, indicating that it’s gone through additional processing aside from initial extraction.
In our experience, the highest quality CBD oil has a rich golden amber hue. Though, this isn’t to say this tincture isn’t quality.
Based on a certificate of analysis (COA), conducted by Botanacor Laboratories, for this product indicates quality and high levels of CBD (774mg).
Bow Wow Canine Softgels/$39.99
BIOS has taken a bit of a different approach to supporting your dog’s endocannabinoid system.
Rather than your typical pet treat, they offer a canine softgel.
This is the first we’ve seen something like this when it comes to pet CBD products.
BIOS recommends using one softgel twice daily, depending on your dog’s individual needs.
Each softgel contains 5mg CBD, as well as 150mg fish oil.
Each softgel contains a small tail that can be twisted off and added to your dog’s food.
You can also try giving them the softgel to swallow, although in our experience dogs don’t always take kindly to swallowing pills.
If you don’t want to twist off the tail and your dog is as stubborn as ours when it comes to taking a pill, you could always stick the softgel in a pill pocket or in a piece of cheese.
BIOS Bow Wow Canine Softgel ingredients include: MCT fractionated coconut oil, full spectrum CBD hemp extract, bovine gelatin, glycerin, fish oil, and kolliphor HS 15 (bioavailability enhancer).
BIOS CBD Topicals
Pain Cream/$29.99
This CBD-infused pain cream contains a long list of mostly natural ingredients designed to relieve pain where you most need it.
While we didn’t get the chance to try it, we’re no strangers to the pain-relieving properties of a good CBD topical cream.
The proprietary blend of other ingredients includes things like arnica montana, passioflora edulis seed extract, olea europaea fruit (olive) oil, and more all known for their natural pain relieving properties.
Refresh Cream/$49.99
CBD creams have created quite a buzz in the beauty business for good reason so.
No matter what your skin type is, it’s safe to say it LOVES CBD.
This is because the skin contains its own endocannabinoid system, with CBD showing to benefit a variety of skin conditions from acne and aging, to psoriasis and rosacea.
BIOS Refresh Cream was designed to moisturize the skin and fight the signs of aging.
BIOS claims some of the benefits their CBD Refresh Cream contains include reducing wrinkles, puffy eyes, and dark circles.
They also maintain it will help firm, tone, hydrate, and smooth out uneven skin tone.
Final Thoughts on BIOS CBD
BIOS is a relatively new company that is federally-licensed and eager to deliver a natural product in an ever-growing industry.
Overall, we think they’re off to a good start.
Their CBD products are great for those who enjoy CBD in the form of a familiar supplement.
Their website is easy to navigate and contains all the information you need to make an educated purchase decision.
For those interested, BIOS also offers CBD wholesale options.
Would we use BIOS again?
Absolutely.
Especially their natural pain relief tablets.
They worked like magic to melt away our chronic neck and shoulder pain.
