If you’ve been reading the other posts at CBD School, you know that CBD is the non-psychoactive cannabinoid found in both marijuana and hemp plants.
Exciting research is being done to see if CBD has the following benefits:
- Anti-epileptic
- Anti-inflammatory
- Anti-anxiety
- Neuroprotective
- Pain Relieving
- Anti-oxidant
Origin of CBD?
CBD and all cannabinoids are produced and concentrated in the resin of the cannabis plant.
The beneficial terpenes and flavonoids are also produced and concentrated in the resins.
When it comes to quality CBD oil, it’s all about the resin.
The resin is a thick substance found mainly in the glandular trichomes in the flower of a cannabis plant.
There are smaller amounts of resin also found on the leaves and stems of the cannabis plant.

The resin of a cannabis plant, whether it’s a hemp or marijuana plant, contains the highest concentration of therapeutically desirable compounds — the cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids.

This is why we at CBD School recommend you look for CBD oil made from high resin cannabis plants.
The easiest way to know if you are getting a CBD oil from a high resin plant is to look for descriptions like “full plant extract” and “whole plant extract”.
A whole plant/full plant extract will ensure that the CBD oil was made using the whole cannabis plant, including the parts where most of the resin is contained: the flowers.
