How to Unstick an Arizer Extreme Q Cyclone bowl

Arizer Extreme Q

Sometimes, I’ve found that the Cylone bowl of my Arizer Extreme Q tends to get stuck to my Extreme Q base.

If you’re currently having this problem, then try some of my solutions listed below. Since the Extreme Q is glass on glass, it can be very fragile and thus it is important to handle it with care.

If you’re unit is currently off and you’ve noticed that the glass is stuck, then do not try to remove it. When your glass is cold, it contracts and tends to become more stuck. Rather than try to unstick your Cyclone Bowl, first set the Arizer Extreme Q to a temperature of 225 degrees C, and let it sit for about ten minutes. Once this has been done, gently try to work the Cyclone Bowl loose. The heat produced by the Extreme Q should cause the glass to expand, thus creating an opening in which the Cyclone Bowl can easily be removed.

Avoid Use of Force

A number of people try to remove their Extreme Q bowl by force, and I can confirm that this is not an ideal method. Sometimes, it takes 1-3 reheating sessions to loosen the Cyclone Bowl to the point in which it will come free from the base. Be gentle, and once it becomes unstuck, make sure to take some precautionary measures to ensure that your Extreme Q never gets stuck again.

Use Lubricant

In order to prevent your Extreme Q bowl from sticking again, I highly recommend using some form of glass lubricant. There a number of glass lubricants designed to function at high temperatures, and these lubricants can be a great way of making sure that your Extreme Q never gets stuck again.

Conclusion

In summary, when you try freeing your cyclone bowl, make sure to take extreme caution. Use care, as trying to force your Extreme Q bowl can cause cause serious problems or breakage. If you have any additional tips to help unstick an Extreme Q, feel free to share it with us in the comments!
