Update: The Pax 3 and Pax Era specs have officially been released! Check out my post here for all the details!!
Created by Ploom, the Pax line of portable vaporizers (which currently includes the Pax and Pax 2) is by far one of the most popular vaporizer brands on the market today, and I’ve had great experiences with both vapes (as you can see in my reviews!). Just recently, I came across an email survey from Pax which has been asking customers for feedback regarding three possible new models of the Pax; the Pax 3, Air, and Era. As you can see from the screenshots, Ploom is looking to expand their offerings to create a range of portables to fit a variety of vaping needs.
Judging by the spec sheets, it looks like the Pax 3 will be the natural successor over the current Pax 2, and is compatible with both loose leaf cannabis as well as concentrates. The Pax 3 has a 0.25 gram bowl capacity and Ploom claims that you can get up to 200 puffs on a full charge. Moreover, like the previous Pax models it comes with a 10 year warranty which gives you peace of mind should anything go wrong.

The Pax Air is quite intriguing, as its an ultraportable vape which boasts up to 150 puffs per charge with an instantaneous heat time. Compared to the Pax 3 it has a bowl capacity of 0.1 grams, but it also looks to be about half the size (which makes it even easier to take with you on the go!). Unlike the Pax 3, the Air has a 1-year warranty, but given how both my Pax 1 and 2 still work fine, I have confidence in the build quallity of Ploom’s devices.
The third newly introduced unit is the Pax Era, a slim device used for vaping cannabis e-liquids from pre-filled cartridges. Available from select retail dispensaries, a pod of e-liquid will run between $35-$60 USD. Design wise, it reminds me a bit of the Blackout X except with an aluminum body.
Furthermore, all three vapes are able to interface with a special cellphone app (I’ll have more details on this in the near future!), allowing you to control your vape as well as customize your experience which I find to be quite cool. There’s no word on a release date yet (and features/models are definitely subject to change as this is still the planning stages), but I’m definitely looking forward to trying out both the Pax 3 and Air (of course reviewing them here on VaporBlog!), as well as the Era if I’m able to find a dispensary that carries it!
