SMOK Vape Pen 22 Review

The Smok’s Vape Pen 22 certainly looks like a novice product, mostly due to its simplicity. However, as subtle as it may look, it is a great and substantial option for seasoned vapers, providing comprehensive sub-ohm features.

The biggest trend in the vaping world for the past two years has been selling starter kits. These are simply an all in one solution that caters to the vaping needs of everyone. The Smok Vape 22 pen falls in this category, featuring an eGo style battery of 165mAh and a diameter of 22mm. This creates a fixed voltage figure according to the power left. However, the base of the tank is completely sealed, and while the inside might host a cylindrical battery, it is not like the conventional eGo battery.

Using the Smok Vape Pen 22 is quite intuitive. You press the fire button to turn it on or off, pressing and holding the button again order to vape. The process is really easy and safe, with the protection requirements embedded in the regulating chip. This product certainly offers the simplest way to vape out of the box.

What’s in The Package?

  • The pen (0.30-ohm coil that’s pre-installed)
  • A silicone vape band
  • Additional 0.3-ohm coil head.
  • USB charging cable.

Right off the bat, this one clear downside with the Smok Pen 22- it does not come with an extra glass tank for the product. Yes, the vape band might provide some protection, but if you accidentally drop the vape, the glass would break, making it a bit worrying not to have an extra tank in handy.

Features and Specs

    • Supports pass-through charging
    • 110mm in height and 22mm in diameter making it small and compact
    • Doesn’t leak
    • Easy to use/maintain

The Design

Just like we said in our Smok Priv N19 review, the Smok Vape Pen 22 is certainly an appealing gadget. It looks like a tube mod, but if you pay attention, the tank is part of the mod. The base where you screw on coil heads plus the airflow are located on top of the gadget, and the only removable parts include the top cap and glass tank. This is quite an ingenious design choice that shortens the pen even more. Similar to other Smok products, the Vape Pen 22 ideally features an appealing, long-lasting finish. The matte black version especially features a texture that’s not only good to the feel but makes the mod easier to hold.

The Build Quality

This pen is actually pretty robust, thanks to the entire product being made of stainless steel. This makes the Smok Vape Pen 22 quite durable, and it can take various hits without sustaining any form of damage, including chipping. The eGo style battery is securely held in place, and there are no rattling signs when you shake the pen. The firing button is rounded, but large and protrudes just enough to make it easy to find and use.

The tank is also built-in and works just as claimed. If you screw the top cap securely, you don’t need to have concerns over leaks. You can leave the gadget on its side for any number of hours, and it won’t leak, making it pretty easy to carry around.

Replacement Coils

As mentioned earlier, the Smok Vape Pen 22 features a sub-ohm tank, meaning it does not have an RBA base. As such, the only way you can use the mods is through pre-made coils. However, you cannot install other Smok coil heads as this
