Types of CBD Concentrates
As society becomes more open to the use of CBD products, we learn that there are different strands and concentrates that are better for helping in certain areas of functionality and health. The three types of CBD concentrate are CBD isolate, full-spectrum CBD, and broad-spectrum CBD. CBD isolate is a highly concentrated form of CBD without the other active compounds in the cannabis plant. Full-spectrum CBD contains all of the active compounds in cannabis, including psychoactive THC, although the amount of THC should be under 0.3%, not enough to cause a high. Broad-spectrum CBD contains all the active compounds of the cannabis plant except for THC.
Benefits of CBD
There are many different forms of CBD available for consumption. Some of these include oil, wax, shatter, isolate, and hash. Besides being the second most common cannabinoid found in nature after THC, CBD is also the second most popular. While CBD does not get you high in the same way THC does, it is largely responsible for some of the health benefits of the cannabis plant. Some of the symptoms CBD assists the body and mind with are seizures, chronic pain, inflammation, schizophrenia, and cancer. It is also known to alleviate stress, promote better sleep, and makes it easier to access focus and energy. It also boasts preventative benefits, such as helping prevent bone disease and various cancers, and helping promote the growth of new neurons in the brain.
CBD for Focus, Energy
Currently, there are few studies that give extensive information on the benefits of CBD as it relates to energy and focus. If the lack of energy and focus is a result of chronic conditions that see a lack in sleep, increase in stress, and poor diet, using CBD to counteract these things may help energy and focus to improve.
Full-spectrum CBD utilizes the natural terpenes in the hemp plant which allow for maximization of the health benefits the plant offers. Full-spectrum CBD offers the entourage effect, which is when the whole compounds of the plant work together for the benefit of the health of the consumer by intensifying the therapeutic effects the plant has to offer.
Because isolated CBD does not have the same whole-compound effects as full-spectrum CBD, it cannot compete with the entourage effect that full-spectrum CBD boasts, and therefore is not as useful for focus and energy levels as full-spectrum would be.
For consumers who desire to try isolated CBD over full-spectrum CBD, it is important to be aware that an increased dosage taken to counteract the lack of beneficial properties of the isolated CBD does not increase its effectiveness the way a higher dose of full-spectrum CBD aligns directly with higher levels of relief and positive effects.
