Svn (7) Questions with Zula Essentials:

1. Please tell us about how you started Zula Essentials, your connection to CBD and where does the name come from?

CBD Is Life! Literally. I was Introduced to CBD in 2018 and I used it to help with anxiety. It immediately made me feel more balanced and calmer and I had some of the best sleep I had in a long time. Once, I started to use it I knew that I just had to spread the knowledge and joy of using CBD with others and that led me to founding Zula Essentials Premium CBD.

The story of the name Zula is really near and dear to my heart. It is a combination of both of my daughters' names, Zuri and Kamila. It was really Important to include them in the narrative as this brand was primarily founded with women in mind and I want them to embody all of the qualities that Zula Represents—Harmony, Education, Equilibrium and Authenticity.

2. You receive many testimonials from your customers, have there been any testimonials that have moved you and validated why you do what you do that you could share with our audience?

OMG, yes! Client testimonials are the best and really is the life blood that drives the Zula team to do what we do. I have received several testimonials about our products, but one that really stands out is when a customer told me that she brought a CBD oil tincture and soothing cream for her mother who suffers from joint pain. The CBD helped her mom so much that she was now able to use her hands to the things that she loves like gardening and writing in her journal. It revolutionized her life and she was so incredibly grateful.

3. Mental health challenges rose dramatically during the pandemic and affected many, this is also a key area of focus for Zula. How is Zula involved with mental health issues and do you see CBD providing relief here?

At Zula Essentials, we are strong advocates of mental health being a priority and being at the core of your wellness. Zula Essentials is proud to donate to the Loveland Therapy Foundation, which provides access to therapy for black women and girls. I am so grateful for the opportunity to support these efforts as the foundation continues to bring opportunity, access, validation and healing to marginalized peoples. CBD absolutely does wonders for anyone suffering with anxiety, Insomnia, PTSD and a myriad of other mental health related challenges. I am so proud of this brand and the lives we are able to impact through the power of CBD.

4. CBD has been around for a good 3 years plus, do you still feel there are stigmas and what is your company doing to dismantle these stigmas?

Oh absolutely. I myself, have had to deal with my own stigmas in how I have perceived the use of cannabis, CBD, etc. I remember when my cousin would use cannabis, I felt some type of way about it. I thought it wasn't appropriate and pretty much, something to shake my head at and pass judgement. However, I now realize how misguided that was and I had a lot of unlearning to do.  Which is why at Zula Essentials, one of our pillars is education and teaching people about the benefits of CBD and how it helps our bodies achieve maximum wellness and balance.

5. CBD is one of many cannabinoids and on the cusp of a lot of exciting research finally starting to happen especially when it pertains to sleep and anxiety, what is something that fascinates you about the power of this plant?

Cannabidiol (CBD) fascinates me for so many reasons. Most notably is that we literally have endocannabinoid receptors in our body that are designed specifically to function with CBD. How amazing it is that our body has the unique ability to achieve balance and equilibrium when activated by the power of CBD. Even though more research is being done now, CBD has been around for quite a long time. It amazes me that we have had access to such a powerful plant but have not been able to use it on a large scale until now due to political and legal factors. The natural power of this plant to help in so many ways, especially with sleep and anxiety is groundbreaking and I'm so excited that Zula Essentials is a part of this movement.

6. What are some of the key products you have in your line, do you have anything new coming in our near future?

Our line of premium vegan products consists of CBD oil tinctures, CBD gummies and soothing CBD cream. We are proud that all of our products are 3rd party lab tested for purity and manufactured using the highest standards in the industry.  We are working on releasing new products including CBD bath bombs for the ultimate, soothing treat which will help you relax and unwind.

7. We are emerging as ‘new’ beings from 2020, what is a quote or piece of advice you’d like to leave our audience with?

Ohhh yes…2020 was such an Interesting year on so many levels. Definitely, something that 2020 has reaffirmed for me and I would definitely advice to others is to go for your dreams and do it now. We don't know what tomorrow brings so stop sitting on your ideas, passions and dreams. Make them a reality now.

DO IT NOW. This has been a mantra in my life, especially coming out of 2020!
