A leisurely soak in the tub is one of the best ways to relax, de-stress, and unwind. Adding a fizzing bath bomb into the equation transforms your bath into a luxurious, spa-like experience. As the bubbles rise, your troubles seem to melt away.
Now consider how you might benefit if your bath bomb was infused with the calming, soothing potential of hemp-derived CBD. All you’ll need are a few simple ingredients, several minutes of your time, and your favorite CBDistillery™ CBD oil tincture. We’ll even give you the recipe.
Boost Relaxation with Nurturing Ingredients and Natural Effervescence
Soaking with a CBD-infused bath bomb could be just what you need after a particularly stressful day at home or on the job, too many hours on your feet, or an intense workout. You can even use your bath bomb to complement the effects of any other CBD products you’re currently using.
Of course, you could pay top dollar for pre-made bath bombs, but why? Many companies charge ridiculous prices for bath bombs that contain very little CBD. Some even add artificial fragrances known to cause skin irritation or coloring agents that can stain your tub. When you make your own, you have full control over every detail and know the purpose of each ingredient. All you need is the following list of ingredients, two bowls, and a whisk.
Citric Acid & Baking Soda – Dropping your bath bomb in water triggers a reaction between the baking soda and citric acid. The release of carbon dioxide makes the bath bomb fizz.
Cornstarch – Cornstarch is a binding agent that slows the reaction between baking soda and citric acid. Without the cornstarch, your bath bomb would fizzle out within seconds.
Epsom Salt – Epsom salt breaks down into sulfate and magnesium in water. As you soak in the tub, the magnesium helps relax tense muscles, soothe inflamed joints, and eliminate toxins.2
Coconut Oil – Coconut oil is a great skin moisturizer with considerable anti-inflammatory properties. The warmth of your bath melts the coconut oil to help boost skin hydration.3
Essential Oils – Essential oils boost the therapeutic potential of your bath bomb. Adding lavender oil could help you relax, ginger and lemongrass can be invigorating, and rosemary is believed to reduce tension and fatigue.
How Do CBD Bath Bombs Work?
CBD elevates the impact of your bath bombs by interacting with the receptors of the largest regulatory system in your body, the receptors of your endocannabinoid system (ECS). Those receptors regulate and modulate the processes of homeostasis, the balance required to keep systems throughout your body working as they should.1
Ideally, your body would make all the ECS messengers it needs to interact with these important receptors. But illness, injury, and stress can increase the demand. That’s where CBD comes in. The cannabinoid mimics the effects of important chemical messengers made in your body to help support ECS function. The effects of that interaction depend on which functions might be restored to balance through ECS support.
Based on the feedback of 2000 survey respondents, 9 out of 10 CBD users report that CBD helps calm their mind, 89% tell us that CBD helps them sleep better, and 8 out of 10 claim considerable relief from pain and inflammation after physical activity.
Making Your Own CBD Bath Bombs – Recipe and Instructions
DIY bath bombs are popular with crafters of all skill levels. If you’re not ready to invest in bath bomb molds, use your imagination. Bath bombs don’t have to be round. Consider using an Ice cube tray, plastic Easter eggs, or a muffin tin. For best results, allow your bath bombs to dry thoroughly before use and store them in an airtight container.
Ingredient List
1 cup baking soda
½ cup Epsom salt
½ cup citric acid
½ cup cornstarch
2 Tbsp melted coconut oil
1 tsp water
6-7 drops of essential oil
CBDistillery™ CBD Oil Tincture (desired among, strength, and formula)
Dried flower petals (optional)
Directions:
- Whisk the dry ingredients together in a large bowl.
- In a separate bowl, combine the wet ingredients.
- Slowly drizzle the liquid ingredient into the dry ingredients while whisking continuously until well combined. The end result should look like dry, crumbly sand.
- If you’re using flower petals, sprinkle a few into the bottom half of your bath bomb mold.
- Fill each half of your bath bomb mold, packing the mixture firmly. Then press the two halves together as hard as you can, scraping away any mixture that overflows out the sides.
- Let your filled molds dry overnight.
- Once your molds have set, tap the surface lightly with a spoon and carefully remove your CBD bath bombs.
How to Use Your CBD Bath Bombs
Bath bombs fizzle, foam, and sometimes spin when you drop them into water. To use your CBD bath bomb, fill your tub, slip the bath bomb into the water, and watch it bubble! For best results, soak in your tub for at least 20 minutes to allow time for the CBD, Epsom salt, and essential oils to absorb through your pores. Just lean back, relax, and enjoy the experience.
While you’re still damp from your bath, consider nourishing and protecting your skin with a BOTA™ CBD Body Lotion, or keep the relief going with a CBDistillery™ warming cream or CBD salve. There’s no need to worry about combining CBD products. You may even find that you get better results using more than one.
Based on the results of a blind survey answered by CBDistillery™ customers, 62% of our survey respondents using more than one CBD product felt they achieved better results than when using a single product on its own. Survey responses also revealed that most CBD users achieve favorable results within 7-14 days of consistent use.
