What Are Cannabinoids?
Before you can get deep into the research about CBD, you have to know what are cannabinoids. Simply, cannabinoids are naturally occurring compounds, originally discovered in the cannabis Sativa plant (hence the name, cannabinoid), but are also found naturally in the human body. To differentiate between cannabinoids from plants and cannabinoids from the human body in the question of what are cannabinoids, the easy answer is that plant-based cannabinoids are labeled phytocannabinoids and natural human cannabinoids are labeled endocannabinoids.
The root of the word “Endo” means within or internal. The root of the word “Phyto” means plant.
What Are Endocannabinoids?
One of the reasons that CBD works so incredibly well when supplemented in the human body is because the human body already creates cannabinoids, called endocannabinoids. The chemical makeup of endocannabinoids is identical to the chemical makeup of phytocannabinoids, which means your body needs cannabinoids in order to function. Your body has a vital system called the endocannabinoid system, or ECS for short. So, what are endocannabinoids responsible for? Well, endocannabinoids are responsible for an incredible amount of your body’s internal processes, including:
- Immune System Regulation
- Appetite and Digestion
- Metabolic Processes
- Pain Sensation Regulation
- Inflammation and Immune Responses
- Mood, Learning, and Memory
- Motor Functions
- Sleep and Wake Cycle
- Cardiovascular Functions
- Muscle Formation
- Bone Transformation and Growth
- Liver Function
- Reproductive Functions
- Stress Response
- Nervous System Function

What Are Phytocannabinoids?
Phytocannabinoids are naturally occurring cannabinoids found in cannabis and hemp plants. Both cannabinoids and terpenes are found in the cannabis plant, but both cannabis and terpenes are not found in the human body, as terpenes are specifically from the cannabis and hemp plants. Phytocannabinoids have hundreds (if not thousands) of use cases, while mostly still undiscovered. One of the well-known phytocannabinoids is THC, the federally illegal compound found in the marijuana (cannabis) plant known for its psychoactive effects on the human brain. Another well-known phytocannabinoid is CBD, which has the following clinical use cases:
- anti-anxiety
- anti-rheumatoid arthritis
- anti-convulsive (used to prevent or reduce the severity of epileptic fits or other convulsions)
- anti-psychotic
- anti-nausea
CBD is not psychoactive and has no side effects when administered at recommended levels. Difference between Hemp oil and CBD oil.
In addition to THC and CBD, there are hundreds of other phytocannabinoids with research still developing, including CBG and CBN.
How To Get Phytocannabinoids
One of the easiest ways to get phytocannabinoids into your body to help begin supplementing your endocannabinoid system with additional phytocannabinoids is through a broad-spectrum CBD oil, typically available from the various medical shop in USA. Broad-spectrum means that there are hundreds of other cannabinoids included, in addition to the CBD, without any THC. Broad-spectrum CBD products are incredibly beneficial to your overall health and are federally legal because of the absence of THC. If you’re wondering how to get phytocannabinoids online, while there are a ton of distributors, here at USA Medical, we sell organic, potent, and pure CBD oil with a broad-spectrum of phytocannabinoids (also called PCR Hemp Oil – or Phytocannabinoid Rich Hemp Oil). Is it legal to buy CBD online?
When you take CBD via a broad-spectrum oil, you are getting additional benefits beyond what the CBD can provide thanks to the entourage effect. While still largely considered a theory due to a lack of long-term research and substantial evidence, the entourage effect theory proposes that when a CBD product is broad-spectrum, the multiple cannabinoids working together enhance the positive effects of the CBD in an exponential manner.
CBD isolate (or isolated CBD) is a product containing only CBD and nothing else, meaning you miss out on the entourage effect and ultimately will not see as many positive benefits as you would from a broad-spectrum product. Many companies claim to sell broad-spectrum CBD oil, but don’t provide public lab tests to prove it – unlike USA Medical, where lab tests are always available to our customers to verify what they are putting into their bodies is pure, potent, and organic (and certified by an ISO-certified laboratory!).
USA Medical Phytocannabinoids
The various phytocannabinoids found in broad-spectrum products are believed to work well together because of the way they interact with the receptors in our bodies. When multiple cannabinoids connect to various receptors in our Endocannabinoid System it enhances the positive effects that are typically attributed to using CBD. This is why at USA Medical, we are proud of our broad-spectrum products because we know our customers are getting the best possible CBD oil product.
USA Medical phytocannabinoids for sale currently come in 1000mg CBD Oil and 3000mg CBD Oil tinctures, as well as CBD softgel capsules.
